Easily Install Ubuntu Linux With Windows
An easy way to install Ubuntu is from Windows. There is no complicated disk partitioner, formating, or boot-from-cd type of stuff. You can always uninstall Ubuntu Linux from Window's Add or Remove Programs, so if you don't like it, just get rid of it! Better yet, with this method you don't even have to burn a disc to install Ubuntu! Here's how you do it.
Step 1
Download the Ubuntu Linux installer for Windows here. Run the files, wubi.exe. Now you should see a window with several options on it, such as Desktop Environment (yes, you can select a different "flavor" of Linux here if you want), Installation Drive, and Installation Size. You will also see an option for language and Accessibility at the bottom. Be sure to fill in the Username and Password box. Remember what you put here, as this will be your new user in Ubuntu.
Step 2
Now you will see a progress bar outlining the download and install of Ubuntu (or other operating system that you picked). After the installation is complete, you can reboot. You will see a "Windows Boot Manager". Simply select which operating system you want to boot. The first time you boot into Ubuntu, wait a bit while the installation finishes up. After it is done, your computer will reboot again. Select Ubuntu again in "Windows Boot Manager" and you will see the GRUB bootloader. Select the first option, or Ubuntu (but not the recovery mode) to boot into Ubuntu. At the login screen put in your user information (username and password) and click login. Thats it! You now have Ubuntu Linux installed.
Uninstall Ubuntu
As said before, you can uninstall Ubuntu in a flash if you don't like it. Simply boot into Windows, and uninstall Ubuntu from the "Add or Remove Programs." When you reboot your computer, it will go straight to Windows. No more leftover bootloaders.
